On 16-17 February 2026 the Netherlands eScience Center hosted a two-day JASP hackathon in Amsterdam. The purpose of the hackathon was to guide participants into developing their very own JASP module, with the JASP programming team present to assist. We are happy to report that the event was a resounding success, surpassing our already positive expectations. With 26 participants (for 17 new modules!) the available room was filled to capacity. After two days, all participants managed to create working JASP modules. This could not have happened without the on-site support from the entire JASP team. The ultimate success of the hackathon can only be assessed later — we hope that many of the modules designed during the hackathon will mature enough so that they can be integrated within the JASP ecosystem. Nevertheless, the initial outcome of the hackathon was so inspiring that we are planning to make it an annual event!
