Announcing the “Great Graphs with JASP 2025” Competition!

We are happy to announce the “Great Graphs with JASP 2025” Competition. Email us your most beautiful, elegant, and insightful JASP graph and you stand a chance to win a prize! Any graph is eligible, as long as it was created in JASP – violin plots, plots of prior and posterior distributions…anything goes. Entries that we are particularly impressed by may be publicly shared on our website (either anonymously or with attribution, as you prefer). The deadline for sending in your graph is June 15th. As outlined below, we also organize an APS-specific conference competition with conference-specific prizes.

The Prize Packages

First prize

The first prize consists of €250, free entry to one of the JASP summer workshops 2025, and of course the honor of winning the competition.

Second prize

The second prize consists of a copy of the new textbook Discovering Statistics Using JASP by Andy Field, Eric-Jan Wagenmakers, and Johnny van Doorn, as well as free entry to one of the JASP summer workshops 2025.

Third prize

The third prize consists of a JASP merch pack and free entry to one of the JASP summer workshops 2025. The merch pack consists of our famous teddy bear plus a signed copy of the children’s book Bayesian Thinking for Toddlers (explained here).

All you need to do is email us your entry at info@jasp-stats.org with the subject heading “Great Graph 2025 Candidate”. If you are happy with your figure you can also share it on Bluesky with the hashtag #JASPFigures. Make sure to include a short description (<100 words) that explains what makes your graph a winner. The deadline for online submissions is June 15, 2025. Multiple entries are allowed, although we may correct for multiple comparisons if you send in more than three graphs.

Extra Graph Competition for APS Attendees

If you are attending the 2025 APS Annual Convention in Washington, DC (May 22–25, 2025) you can visit us at the JASP booth in the exhibit hall. We will have a conference-only mini-great-graph-competition running on the spot. The APS prizes are as follows:

First APS prize

The first APS prize consists of a copy of the new textbook Discovering Statistics Using JASP by Andy Field, Eric-Jan Wagenmakers, and Johnny van Doorn, as well as free entry to one of the JASP summer workshops 2025.

Second APS prize

The second APS prize consists of a JASP merch pack plus and free entry to one of the JASP summer workshops 2025. The merch pack plus consists of our famous teddy bear plus a signed copy of the children’s book Bayesian Thinking for Toddlers, as well as an additional goodie.

Third APS prize

The third APS prize consists of a JASP merch pack and free entry to one of the JASP summer workshops 2025. The merch pack consists of our famous teddy bear plus a signed copy of the children’s book Bayesian Thinking for Toddlers.

Just bring your laptop, tablet, or phone, show us your graph in person and then email it to us at info@jasp-stats.org with the subject heading “APS Great Graph 2025 Candidate”. If you are happy with your figure you can also share it on Bluesky with the hashtag #JASPFigures. In your email, make sure to include a short description (<100 words) that explains what makes your graph a winner. The prize winners will be announced at the conference. Just as for the main competition, multiple entries are allowed; entries that we are particularly impressed with may be shared publicly on our website, either anonymously or with attribution (as you prefer). NB. The entries of the APS winners automatically participate in the main competition.

We are looking forward to your entries!
